Training & Gamification

Gamification is the use of game thinking and game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in solving problems and increase users' self-contributions. Gamification has been studied and applied in several domains, with some of the main purposes being to engage (improve user engagement, physical exercise, return on investment, flow, data quality, timeliness), teach (in classrooms, the public or at work), entertain (enjoyment, fan loyalty), measure (for recruiting and employee evaluation), and to improve the perceived ease of use of information systems. A review of research on gamification shows that a majority of studies on gamification find positive effects from gamification.

The Learning and Development community and training industry is obviously following this new approach to reinforce learning and change at individual and team level.  The buzz is more frequently associated with the use of technology, game platforms, e-Learning portals and individual desk-based learning.

Quantum4Change has adapted gamification to the world of classroom learning and team synergy.  We leverage on benefits of gamification at individual level and accelerate chnage engagement and institutionalisation through in-game socialisation.

The following video was published to promote a train-the-trainer event at the 2014 summer university of Krauthammer International.  The Oil Rig RFP scenario can be delivered over of a period of three hours to two days. This scenario works extremely well with groups of 12 to 55 participants, in the context of team building, global account management and planning...
